I wish one of you XMBC pros would help me get mine updated so the power button would wake it up from s3.  I asked over on the XMBC site and the response was to vague for me to act on.

I personally don't know how to fix your issue (I never let my ION box sleep as that adds in issues as you have found and Atoms sip power anyway), but I will say that I know from being active over there that the Dharma release is being held-up by them fixing issues like this for the XBMC Live release.

Wait for the Dharma release candidate, then give it an install. Should be a big improvement.

Do you need to be using a cache drive for cache_dirs, or can it cache the directories in memory?

I'm using the XBMC Live and had it install to a flash drive.  My hardware is a Foxconn G41S-K and a GeForce 210 video card.  The Live install installs the ATI or nVidea drivers.  The Foxconn G41S-K was on sale for $31 and it's turned out to be pretty nice.

Cache_dirs is not related to the cache drive, it only loads the directories into memory.

Other than they both having the word "cache" as part of their name, they have nothing to do with each other.

cache_dirs is simply a process that performs a directory listing on your behalf frequently so it stays in memory. (The disk blocks representing the directory entries are never the least recently accessed and therefore, are not re-used as readily.)

Excellent, that's what I was hoping for... going to install that now!
