Help for more sata Ports

Recommended Posts

Im searching for a way to expand my sata Ports. Pci express to sata seems the way to go. I tried to understand what I should buy but I am confused.

Some cards are slow on pci (1x 2x 3x express etc)

Sata 2/3 (woukd like 3 for future)

Max capacity (I don't like limits. Im using 8tb hdds)

Unraid compatible (some work. Some needs flashing (how?). Some are limited in anyway)

Price (as low as possible😜

Ports (min 8 sata ports I think)

And why raid controller? I don't want to raid anything..I just want to get more sata ports for more hdds in unraid without buying a new board/cpu/ram

I hope anyone can help me to see clearly in this.
