Boost your CPUs Performance "for free"

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

i wanna share a thing which helped me very hard.

You all know this, you build your PC/Server and after some time, the CPU heat gets worser and worser, its mostly bc you have too much paste, or too less, or it dried out... or what ever random event.

On LTT (Linus tech tips) i saw a video about graphite pads, which should have better thermal efficiency, are reusable, and never degrade.

Since im from EU, i ordered 4 pads from USA and tried it out... what should i say?

Handbrake decoding from 5 FPS to 30+FPS (temp went from 90-100 C to around 60-80).

I can strongly recommend it. Try it yourself.

Its better in every way, ONLY downside is, its electrice conductive, so be responsible that it doesnt touch anything besides cooler and cpu. (but i think most of us do this also with normal thermal paste, even if that is not required)

I bought here:

This should also be added to the wiki, because its so good for servers which are 24/7.

I moved all my machines over to those. They perform well and are zero maintenance.

That's awesome thanks for sharing !

I will have to try those my i7 6700K is stuck with a low profile cooler due to the 2U case i have it in and i constantly see thermal throttling going on
