GileraGFR
Hi, Really quick (hopefully easy) question for someone, I've googled and found scenarios close to mine but not exact - I have a failed 2TB drive in my array and my parity drive is only 2TB, can i replace the failed drive with a 3TB drive? I'm not expecting all 3TB to be usable but will it rebuild my data or complain one of my data drives is larger than parity? The server has been offline for over a year so I'm hoping other drives are OK and yes I know it's super old, I'm currently building a replacement unRaid 6 box. I don't think spec or any further details are needed but if they are please just let me know and i will provide. Cheers Gil Edited January 4, 2019 by GileraGFR Quote Link to comment

No, data drives can't be larger than parity, though v4.7 only detects up to 2.2TB, you can still do a parity swap, but you should upgrade to be able to fully use >2TB drives. Quote Link to comment
GileraGFR
Ahhh yes I forgot about that limitation too. How exact is it when it checks the size? If the new drive is just a few bytes larger than the current parity drive does that matter? Quote Link to comment
