Docker and static IP Question

Featured Replies

My setup-

Router IP - 192.168.1.254

Router DHCP - 192.168.1.50-253

Other devices range on my network from 192.168.1.1-11 including unraid at xxx.4

When setting IP addresses for docker containers, am i right in thinking that i cant use anything already assigned and it must not be withing my router dhcp pool?

Asking as, i needed to set homeseer docker to a static for it to work, (192.168.1.12) and this works great

however, changing binhex-plex docker to 192.168.1.13, i cant access the webui - it doesnt matter what IP i used i couldnt get it to work

In saying that, i have just installed the linuxserver docker, with the xxx.13 ip address and it works (binhex docker stopped)

I tried in the past to get the binhex Plex docker to work on an IP other than the unRAID server. Was never successful and finally gave up. Might be due to how @binhex has set the iptables. Maybe he can provide better info.

No iptables in the Plex docker, but it is host not bridge network, maybe related?
