ATI Driver Install - No Write Permissions - Help

Featured Replies

Hi all - I'm new to UnRaid & *nix based OS's and need some guidance installing ATI GPU driver in UnRaid.

I'm not trying to do do GPU passthrough or anything, just need drivers installed as without them GPU runs extremely hot, GPU is ATI FirePro 2260.

I downloaded Linux drivers from AMD web site, copied extracted .run file onto UnRaid USB drive, boot folder - but when I try to run it the installer opens up and tells me "No write permissions to install package".

I tried the following but still getting the error msg

sudo su

chmod u+x ati-driver-installer-11-x86.x86_64.run

sudo ./ati-driver-installer-11-x86.x86_64.run

Please offer some guidance on how to install this.

Thanks in advance.

What you are asking is not really possible at the moment.

You will need to figure out another solution to this issue, possibly a different GPU that works properly with generic drivers.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a list of officially supported GPUs ?
