CPU and ram pinning

I am running a Windows VM and a couple of dockers. I would like to pin / isolate my CPU cores. My i7 has 6C/6T and I have 32GB of ram. I was thinking to assigng either 4C/4T or even 5C/5T to my Windows VM (and leave the rest to Unraid and the dockers). And have 16GB of ram to the VM. I currently have this setup without pinning, but am thinking that I may have better performance with the VM if I have the 5C/5T (or 4C/4T) exclusive to the VM and not share them with the dockers.

 

Would love to get your thinking whether this thinking makes sense and how to do it?
