January 22, 20197 yr Im a first time raid user. In my current config, i use 2x 2TB drives. My question is: Is it normal that creating the array is like 4hours+ ? Also 24.6Gb is already used (pretty sure the disks were empty when installing them) Thanks

Parity sync must write the entire 2TB parity disk. 5 minutes ago, xenic said: Also 24.6Gb is already used (pretty sure the disks were empty when installing them) Unraid would have formatted Disk1 (parity doesn't have a format), unless it was already an Unraid disk. There will be some overhead for the filesystem so that is probably OK too. If you enabled Dockers or VMs then it would have had to create some files on that only available disk. Your screenshot looks clipped. There is a View column on the right with folder icons for each data disk. You can click on that to see what (if anything) is on the disk.
