Copying faster then I can write to array

I was archiving some youtube videos I downloaded, when I noticed that I'm sustained copying faster then my array can write to it. Is unraid buffering the transfer in RAM, or am I missing something?

    It is quite normal for Linux based systems to use RAM to cache writes.   How much RAM do you have?   That screen shot suggests that at the point you captured it you were writing at Gigabit LAN speed.    In such a case the write will slow down as free RAM gets exhausted.  Also, do you have a cache drive?
