Array reports 2 disks with errors - diag attached

Featured Replies

Got the dreaded disk error warning Disk 1 and Disk 3. This is still the yellow warning, it hasn't progressed to a red error (not yet anyway). I can't seem to spin up either drive to run a SMART test on them -- nothing happens when I try to spin them up from the UI.

Diagnostics attached.

What's the procedure here? I don't want to touch anything before hearing from people smarter than me :)

Since I was able to grab diagnostics here, I went ahead and rebooted the server. In the startup log, I noticed a message that the SATA link was down and SATA speed was being limited to 1.5 gb/s.

Motherboard error (SATA controller)? PSU error?

Disks 1,3 have dropped offline. Check all connections, SATA and power then post another diagnostic.

Replaced the power cable to the affected drives (they shared the same cable) and all drives are now green again!

Do I need to run anything as a safety precaution now? They were down for like 24 hours before I realized (and for future, I've already ticked the box for email notifications on warnings).

Disks look fine. If Unraid tried and failed to write one of the disks it would have disabled it, so there must not have been any writes. Since none were disabled you should be good.
