New build with i7 9700

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I need to reduce the footprint on my setup so my desktop needs to go. I'm planning to move the desktop to unraid as a Win10 VM, main use photoshop and lightroom, and if parenthood allows it (:-)) some gaming!

So I'm planning my next setup and I have thought of the i7 9700 + 1080Ti GPU, an overkill for a server but hopefully more than enough for my VM purpose. I'm running some dockers as well (emby, sonarr, radar, sab) and would like to start playing with tvheadend.

What do you think? Anyone with a similar configuration?

Could you recommend me a micro ATX motherboard? Besides the 1080Ti I need pci slots for one M1015 and one RES2SV240.

What about RAM, will 32GB be enough? What speed

I also read the i7 tends to run hot, any recommendation for a cooler?

Thanks!
