[SOLVED] Parity-Check starts fine, but slows down to a standstill...

Featured Replies

Hi!

Everything was fine for over 80 days until I ran a parity check a few days ago. Since than I'm not able to finish the check. Sometimes the GUI stops responding at all (and no telnet session possible) and sometimes the speed is slowing down significantly:

The first log is soon after the slowdown started, the second log is after I came back from work.

Any ideas what might cause the problems?

Not much in either syslog after check started except some dumps.

Have you done a memtest recently?

I had random troubles along the way in my unraid-experience, last time I had done extensive memtesting was about 80 days ago.

No error after 3 days.

Wouldn't hurt anything to do another memtest. Certainly better than waiting over a year for parity check.

Also, since you have some sync errors here already that is also a reason to suspect RAM, though with those few I would be more inclined to suspect unclean shutdown.

The only correct answer for sync errors is exactly zero and if that is not the answer then you need to do it again until it is.

Even if the RAM didn't show any problems during the mem-test I bought new one and my problem seems to be gone... I consider it solved. :)
