How to troubleshoot network errors, drops, and overruns?

Featured Replies

I just started with Unraid a few days ago, and I have everything installed and working via Docker containers, but I'm having a large amount of network errors, drops, and overruns. Not sure how I should go about troubleshooting to figure out what they are, or what container they're associated with?

Here's what I'm seeing with 11 hours uptime:

Thanks!

You should first calculate the percentage of errors vs total traffic.

Then Google the problem.   (As I remember, the general consensus --- the last time I investigate the 'problem' ---  was that if there were no other networking issues, ignore them.)

The only thing I've noticed came from one of my Plex "friends" who said video was buffering and/or blurry randomly. Though that would be transmit errors I would think... and these all appear to be receive errors.

Squid, you replied as I was typing this. Thank you! I'll ignore it 🙂

IMO, a dropped packet etc is bound to happen given enough traffic.  Electrical interference, Gremlins, and bad vibes can all have an affect.
