SMART values of a HGST drive

Recommended Posts

I'm in need about some interpretation for the UDMA_CRC_error_count values of HGST drives. The value 200 reports everythings ok, Unraid throws a SMART error and Crystal says everythings fine.

What does UDMA_CRC_error_count on HGST drives mean?

It means the same as in all other drives, a bad connection, vast majority of times a bad SATA cable, but note the attribute doesn't reset, so if you change the cable and as long as the value doesn't keep increasing problem is solved.
