Hardware

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I want to build my first Unraid Server. I have searched for hardware and I found these parts: https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-1138947

I want to use the Server as a NAS. 2 of the HDDs are for Parity and the other 2 as normal disks in Unraid. So i can lose 2 disk without losing data, right?

The 2 M.2 SSD from Kingston are for Cache. I want to run also a Steam Cache, a Media Server, and a few Docker Container or VMs.

What you guys think about my hardware choice?

Thank you for your Help. :)

I think your CPU has not enough threads. 2 for unraid, 2 for docker, leaves not much room for vms. if you can afford I suggest at least something like Intel Xeon E-2134 ; or do a ryzen build; or use cheaper last gen. hw and even more cores maybe ?

Ryzen is an option, but which Mainboard should I use? There are not many AM4 Boards with ECC RAM Support?
