Hi guys, I was wondering if I can backup my main unraid server that's based at my office,  I was thinking about another server running at my home backing up the office server automatically, has anyone done this before?

Like certain share folders etc, Not massive data Its for company documents so must be a safe way of doing this

thank you! :)

This solution has a bit of a learning curve and requires some manual setup, but it is very secure via SSH and totally automatic via backup script.

My script powers on the backup server, backs up specific shares (only new or modified files), emails me a summary of what was done and powers down the backup server.  The power up/down requires a motherboard with IPMI.

It took me several days following instructions in the linked thread to get it going flawlessly, but it is now rock solid.  It is truly set-it-and-forget-it and runs on the schedule specified for the script via the User Scripts plugin.

If the manual setup and learning curve are a problem, some use the Syncthing or Resilio dockers.
