October 2, 201015 yr Had a power outage for no reason, clear skys. Started server up to be greeted with a parity sync going only 25MB/s and 1 sync error after .3%. I stopped it because I had stuff to do. When the server shut down I was only reading from it, not writing. So there should be no sync errors? Should I bet concerned? EDIT: Finished what I needed to do. Re-started parity sync, 95MB/s, 7%, no more errors. Should I be concerned about that single sync error? syslog.txt
October 4, 201015 yr In the log you will see that some transactions were replayed by the reiser FS and this is probably was led to the sync error. Something was sitting in the journal when the server went down and caused the issue. You probably don't need to worry about any more sync errors but i would run another parity check just to make sure a drive or some other hardware was not effect by the power lose. What you really need to do is get an APC UPS Backup unit. It will help protect you from power outages like the one you had and if you have installed the correct software it will shut the server down cleanly in an extended outage.
