With the release of the NVIDIA plugin I went to throw a P2000 I had lying around (long story) into my server only to remember that I can't as my MB doesn't have a PCIe x16 slot. So looking to update the MB/CPU but it's too large an area for a simple man like me!

 

Currently running a Norco 4224 with Intel S1200BTL / Xeon E3-1245 V2 combo from 2014 or so. Just looking for a similar level of performance that also has at least 1 PCIe slot for my P2000.

 

Can I drop the CPU spec in terms of power and TDP if using HW transcoding? Docker is running with these services
