February 19, 20197 yr Hi guys i have a problem i cant figgure out with my noob skills so am hoping you could lead me the way. I had Unraid on an normal pc with 1 harddrive. Now i have bought an old server an HP DL360 G6. The problem is, Unraid doesnt recognize my harddisk anymore because now he sees only the P410i raid controller. How can i overcome this? Thanks in advance!
February 19, 20197 yr Community Expert From googling, it doesn't look like that controller supports JBOD. Best idea would be to use different hardware.
February 19, 20197 yr Community Expert If there aren't any onboard SATA ports get a non RAID controller, LSI recommended.
February 19, 20197 yr Author damn so there is no workaround for it? there are no onboard sata ports. only 1 slimeline could that be possible?
February 19, 20197 yr Community Expert The workaround is to configure the RAID controller so each disk is a separate RAID0 array with a single disk in each. But that workaround is going to be a source of trouble for you and better to get something else.
February 19, 20197 yr Author i did that and it recognize the drives. but ofc. not the serial no. of my harddrive so i cant reach my data on it. If i buy an slimline sata to sata cable and plug it in there is there a possibility it will work?
February 19, 20197 yr Community Expert Can you get a SMART report from the drive in that configuration?

February 19, 20197 yr Author well i got 3 new disks but they work with the p410i raid controller. Only thing is all my data is on the old 1 disk. i would like to acces that data
February 19, 20197 yr Community Expert Old disk may or not work after a new config, but you should be able to mount it with the UD plugin and move the data to the other disks, then add to the array as new disk, just keep in mind that if you need to change hardware in the future same thing will happen, jus one of the reasons why RAID controllers are not recommended.
