Is it better to have VM's on the cache drive os passthrough a dedicated drive?

I will be installing a fresh install of windows 10 as a VM, is it better to have it installed on the cache SSD or install W10 on the bare metal the set the VM to use the SSD W10 was installed on? 

The cache drive is 1TB SSD and the other SSD I could use for the VM is 256GB

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

    depends on what else is using the cache, if it is getting thrashed already, then separate drive...  I currently don't use much else on it, so I do host mine on the cache drive...  But it depends on your setup and preference...
