February 26, 20197 yr So my current setup is... Main Machine = Runs Plex Docker, and stores most of my media Secondary Machine = Smaller Unraid that stores older media I am sharing from my Secondary Machine to my Main Machine using SMB that is mounted to the Main Machine through Unassigned Drives. Everything runs fine at first but every once and a while Plex can't see the SMB being shared, thinks the files are missing and erases them then the next scan sees they are there are readds them. This totally screws up my recently added tv shows and it's getting annoying. The other day I my friend told me a file was unavailable so I thought I'd check and my windows machine sees the file and can play it, Unassigned Drives says SMB is still mounted and active, but Plex says the file isn't there. I restart Plex and it sees it fine. I can't tell if its SMB, Unassigned Drives, Plex Docker or what is causing the missing files but maybe there is a better way to share the files to my Plex docker other than unassigned drives. Or maybe I should share through NSF?
February 26, 20197 yr First off, have you done this https://forums.unraid.net/topic/57181-real-docker-faq/#comment-564314
February 26, 20197 yr Author You know I always see this in Fix Common Problems and ignored it, probably shouldn't have. Ill set it as a RW Slave and see if that works. Now I set my Docker to look at Mnt/User and then drill down to user/disks/sharedsmb Should I instead separate them and have /data = local media share and /data2 = mounted share. Or can I just mount mnt/user as a RW Slave? Let me also guess my mounting mnt/user to /data in a docker is a bad idea, lol. Edited February 26, 20197 yr by Wavey
February 26, 20197 yr Author Nevermind I noticed that the SMB and shares were on a share lower down so I changed those to RW/Slave and also changed the config folder to that.
