hi im not sure if im in the right sub heading

I having issues with rsync  so I decided to try to use my windows 2016 server in VM mode to transfer files from Unraid to Unraid..

 

well my VM keeps loosing network connection  so  windows copying keeps failing... whats going on with VMS  makes it like VMS aren't worth the time..

 

I know if I loose my mapped drive too on a few times a week  …. so what how I fix this to make a VM stable

I have been using a Windows 10 VM as my daily driver and gaming station for over a year now...  Low latency, and no issues with connection stability...

We would need to see the XML file from the VM and diagnostics file for the host to be able to help further... 

That said there is a better then 50% chance the issue is hardware related, not software...

I cant remember if I had it running on this system before I was running unraid  so cant help

not sure how to show xml file but I took pics

ya maybe I better off just installing Win 10  as that computer has no issue with my Win10...  I put on shelf till I get another video card to try the 2 gaming machines 1 cpu…  since I still having issues with onboard video and my pci video card not workting right together...

I have been using UnRaid for a while, and will not being going back to running Windows baremetal again I don't think... That said it does require more regular maintenance than running baremetal... More little things that need to be checked on occasion, all the ones from a Windows install, and from a Linux install combined...  As I said, I consider it worth it, but it is up to you...

 

Under the assumption that you took the red pill and feel up to the challenge, then up above and to the right hand side of all the stuff you took a picture of, there is a little toggle switch for "Form View"

 

 

That is where you find the XML version of your VM setup...  Copy it all to a text file, and attach that file here...

 

Then goto the "Tools" menu, and select Diagnostics...  Click "Download" and save the file somewhere... Then attach that file also...

 

Some things I can see you might want to try first though, make sure you are running UnRaid 6.6.7

Also, normally you want to run latter versions of Windows with the "OVMF" bios, not the SeaBios, but that can wait till we look for anything else...
