Unzipping Files

I have files that sometimes download as WinRAR or RAR files and to unzip them into their location i have to run Docker new safe Perms every time. I think this is causing issues with file corruption. What can i do to top this from happening. The downloads come from qbit. Please assist. :D

You can always go directly to the correct support thread for any of your dockers by clicking on its icon and selecting Support,

Changing the permissions does not touch file contents so cannot as such cause any corruption.    If you find you need to run it that means whatever is running the Unzip is not setting the correct permissions.   You need to resolve the permissions issue at that level.

So i am using 7Zip on my desktop connecting to the network share. the account i used to connect should have full perms for everything. (i made my own root account essentially. )  7zip should be using those creds right?

What does this mean? root technically only has guest access to network shares, and root access to the webUI and command line. Do you mean you have created a different user in the Unraid webUI that has read/write access to the share?

I guess what makes you think you have corruption?   As was mentioned earlier resetting permissions does not touch file contents!   If you think the problem is simply a permission problem how is it manifesting itself?  If you really ARE getting corruption then it is likely to be something more serious like faulty RAM.

Well this is 2 issues really that just present it self at the same time roughly.  1st is the unzipping issue, then the corruption or somethig is that when i go to play the movies i have (using plex) it stops converting them (i have open resources when it stops sub 15% cpu usage on a  1080p show/movie) and playback for that file is done until i replace it with a new file.  so i was thinking something might be corrupting some files as i put them on there.
