Using unraid to sync laptop and pc

Featured Replies

I have just purchased a laptop for uni work. I was wondering is there anyway I can use unraid to sync files between my laptop and pc. So when I create or edit certain files on laptop or pc next time the other one is connected to the network it then copies the new file or applies any edits.

Cheers.

Cheers for the suggestion I've had a quick look at it but it looks a little complicated, I'm a total linux noob.

I wonder if there are any desktop clients for windows that I can set to back up based on conditions.

So ill create a "Uni" share in unraid. Mount it on my laptop and pc, set the software on laptop to sync to uni networked drive only when its available and similar to pc although pc is easy as its always connect to unraid.

I use the Grsync graphical front end on ubuntu, and it's a doddle to set up.

It appears that Grsync is available for windows : http://www.opbyte.it/grsync/

I use this a lot for syncing my phone to my pc. I have one of those smart phones and I often get lazy when it comes to checking files, but I have zero issues clicking on an icon. ;)
