Cache drive Input/Output Errors

Featured Replies

Sadly I have been having issues with my cache drive over the last few weeks. It seems to run fine for several days and then randomly disconnects killing all dockers etc.

Cache drive is mounted using a Sedna FBA_101666709901 PCI-E adapter. This has been working great for well over 1 year.

I am out of SATA connections and have to use the adapter.

Thank you for the support!

It's dropping offline, replace both cables on the SSD.

Hey Johnnie,

It doesn't have cables as it connects via the PCI-e adapter.

I just can't decipher if is the SSD or the adapter causing it to drop.

Thanks

In that case you'll need to try a different one, adapter or SSD, to find out.

No cables, but it still has data and power connectors. It's worth reseating them. How is the SSD powered? Is it from the PCIe slot or is there an SATA/Molex/etc. connector that takes power directly from the power supply?

I resat everything previous to posting as that was my first guess. The SSD is powered from the PCIe Slot.

Going to order a new adapter and try that as it is much cheaper than an SSD.

Strange as I can get about a week out of the server before it disconnects.

Thanks
