Moved folder from one drive to another (using unBALANCE/rsync) and cannot see the contents anymore

Featured Replies

New to unRAID.  Moved a top level folder of a share from one drive (disk0) to another (disk4).  The move went fine, and I can see all the contents in terminal, but in Windows/OSX/Android the SMB share directory shows empty.  Sonarr/radarr even still work fine -- but Plex can't see the downloaded files.  Is there a way I can repair / rescan the directory structure?

Disk0 is technically the parity disk and has no filesystem and no files to move anywhere, so something definitely wrong with your description.

In addition to reconsidering the correct description of what you did, go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete diagnostics zip file to your next post.

You're correct, I have parity turned off currently.  I moved files from disk1 to disk4.  I can verify that all data is intact in the correct file structure on disk4, and I can create and delete folders in the top level from which I moved everything.

Here's the diag:

Did you move the files in the top level folder to the top level of the other disk? Or did you move that top level folder itself to another disk.

I'm not sure unBALANCE would actually let you make the mistake of moving files to the top level of a disk, but it isn't clear if unBALANCE was involved other than you mentioning it in the subject. Only files within a top level folder are in a user share. The user shares ARE the top level folders on cache and array.

Go to Main - Array Devices, click on the folder icon at the far right in the View column for Disk4, then post a screenshot.

You also have a large number of unused .cfg files in the config/shares folder on flash. Which means shares that were created and configured but don't currently exist on any disk.

Go to Shares - User Shares and post a screenshot of that also.

Yes I used unBALANCE.  I moved /mnt/disk1/unRAID/TV Shows to /mnt/disk4/unRAID/TV Shows.  The former director is empty on the disk1 as well as in the SMB share.  It's full on disk4, but I can't see that on the share.

Here are both images.

Try rebooting.

Tried, did not help.

I did delete the empty directory at /mnt/disk1/unRAID/"TV Shows", which allowed SMB to see the proper files.  The dockers (sonarr/radarr) still can't move files to the proper place for some reason though, even though they reference a share and not a disk.

Are you saying you had a folder on disk1 at unRAID/"TV Shows", including the quote marks?

And also a folder on disk4 at unRAID/TV Shows, without the quote marks?

If that is the case I expect you were just getting SMB all confused by the special characters and it was only showing you the contents of that empty folder on disk1.

Sorry for the confusion, no, they both appear without quote marks.

I moved them via unBALANCE so I think it's unlikely a typo type error.
