March 7, 20197 yr They say out of the box you can plug 14 hdds to it but shouldnt a 1600w psu be able to support much more? There's videos on youtube that show how to add more sata connectors to psu cables, what is the max sata power connectors a 6 pin sata port from this psu can handle? I read also there are special cables where you can even use the 8 pin vga ports to connect hdds as they have a converter that outputs the required 5v for hdds. Long story short can the evga 1600 psu be modified to support more hdds and what would be the max it can handle? One last thing i read adding cables to psus that werent made but the same company can damage the hdds. If i'm too scared to modify a psu sata cable to support more hdds where or what kind of cables can i buy that will be compatible with this psu so they dont fry my hdds?
