Setup upgrade advice

Hello, i’m Ventura from Portugal and i’m using Unraid for a pair of months, successfull.

 

My current setups is:

Unraid

Ryzen 5 1600

Asus B350-F Gaming

2x8Gb Gskill Aegis 3000Mhz CL16

3x 4Tb Seagate Barracuda (1 as parity)

1x Sandisk 480Gb TLC

Nvidia Gt710 1gb

Nox Hummer 750w Gold

 

Gaming Machine

4790k

Asus Maximus VII Gene

4x4 Avexir 2800Mhz DDR3

2x Toshiba 480Gb SLC

Msi GTX 1080 Reference

Seasonic Focus 850w Gold

Benq XL2420G 24” FHD 144Hz G-Sync

 

So, i’m thinking sell my 4790k, motherboard and ram from gaming machine and sell Ryzen 5 1600, motherboard and memory from unraid setup, and buy Ryzen 7 2700x, 2x16Gb DDR4 3000Mhz, and a Asus X470-Pro motherboard.

 

Possible future unraid/gaming machine:

Ryzen 7 2700x

Asus X470-Pro

2x16Gb Aegis 3000 CL16

Nvidia Gt710 1gb (for unraid)

MSI GTX 1080 Reference (for gaming, passthrough)

3x4Tb Seagate Barracuda

1x Sandisk 480 TLC (cache)

2x Toshiba 480Gb SLC (as unassigned devices for gaming, passthrough)

Seasonic Focus 850w Gold

Dell T310 (something to buy)

Seagate Barracuda 3tb (have one, new, unused)

Logitech G27

 

Exist a possibility to change SSD Cache, selling Sandisk, put both toshiba ssds in ssd cache, and buy an ssd 1tb for windows vm.

 

So, my main objective is unraid, but, when needed play a little bit. It’s possible have everything in the same rig? I’m thinking create a windows VM with 4 cores and 8threads, use ssd for windows installation and both for games, and connecting logitech via usb, without problems, passthrough usb ports? It’s necessary buy a dedicated ethernet intel pci card for windows vm, or a usb pci card to passthrough every usb?

 

Using dockers too, plex, radarr, sonarr, nzbget, bitwarden, ddclient, filebot, jdownloader2, letsencrypt, mariadb, nextcloud, organizrv2, pihole, tautulli and transmission.
