stevep94
I'm running unRAID but I'm absolutely positive that I'm not getting the best use out of it! At the moment I'm basically using it as a NAS to store family photos and videos along with various media to stream along with a torrent download program (so basically just Deluge and Plex!) What I'm wondering is, is there a plugin (or Docker) that I can set up so that mine and my wife's phones automatically backup any new photos and videos from our phones when connect to the home WiFi? Ideally I'd like for it to only backup any new content as opposed to uploading everything again! Is this possible?? Thanks.... Quote Link to comment
tbonedude420
If you have plexpass you can enable cloud photos, which will copy photos from your phone to your plex server. https://support.plex.tv/articles/202130466-camera-upload-overview/ If not +1 for nextcloud. wonderful app. Quite easy to use, and a clean looking interface, similar to drop-box Quote Link to comment
stevep94
Thanks for the replies - I'll give nextcloud a look (I've not got Plexpass) Quote Link to comment
Greygoose
Nextcloud is superb, there is a space invader one video showing how to setup using reverse proxy with lets encypt. I highly recommend going that route. 1 Quote Link to comment
stevep94
Thanks again for the suggestion - looks to be just the ticket! I've followed the tutorial and got it installed (along with the "mariadb" part (not that I actually understood any of it!) but I'm not sure everything is working as it should!?!? I've found the "auto upload" option in the Android app but it doesn't upload everything from my camera folder....until I realised that it only worked for new media (I assume anyway - I set up the auto upload environment and any new pics I take are uploaded automatically - I presume if I take half a dozen photos in the day, these will upload when I get home?) The larger problem I'm having is using the manual upload feature as it keeps freezing and the only way to get it going again is to drag down from the top of the phone and click on the progress bar every 3 or 4 photos!?!? Is there any way to just get a large number of file to upload without this faff?? Quote Link to comment
tbonedude420
I remember this being an issue at one point... googled and found this https://help.nextcloud.com/t/why-doesnt-android-client-upload-existing-pictures/10365/25 Are you on an older phone/app version? This is fixable, and to my knowledge was fixed. Top right of the screen normally, 3 little dots, 'select all photos' 1 Quote Link to comment
