VPN disables drive access?

Featured Replies

I got a VPN service (PIA) when I connect I can no longer get to my network drives until I turn off the VPN. Any clues as to why this happens? Unraid is on my side of the network not sure why the VPN would interfere? Thanks.

I should add that we can access the drives from anywhere but the computer that is connected to the VPN fine, my HTPC still streams movies and what not but I can't get to the drives through windows any longer, they get red X's on them until I quit the vpn.

VPN directs all traffic to their server. YOUR PC -> THEIR SERVER -> YOUR SERVER DRIVES wont work.

I dont know, but there could be a setting to allow local access or something?

Huh, strange, I mean when I access my drive normally I'm not sending out a packet to the internet, just on my own domain, but what I think happens and what really happens are two different things obviously.

THe question is how u access your drives, did you mount them on the network? Thats what i mean.

Well hidden deep inside the settings I did find a local lan traffic setting which solved the problem Thank you Nuhll!, should of looked for that before but I figured it was something misconfigured on the unraid side.
