DavidInDE
Hello everyone I was wondering if someone could tell me what the benefit of hooking BOTH SFF8087's from an 8i PCIe 3.0 HBA to the bottom two Mini-SAS HD 8643 ports on the SAS 3 backplane is, as per the Supermicro user manual for the BPN-SAS3-826EL1/2. If only one connection is required, I could use a 4i/4e card instead and connect the external 8088 to a SAS2 backplane on another chassis. Is it just for redundancy? Thanks in advance - I think I've got my connector numbers correct, but bear with me if not. If I didn't give any info that is needed, please reach out and I'll answer any questions. S/M weren't able to help, but I know that someone out there on this forum can! Quote Link to comment
