This will be a unmanned machine after install ( i will be accessing web GUI on My linux macine )

I will not be running any VMs at all

I will be only running a few Dockers

and the main use for me is File storage for media files ( Videos,Music,Pictures, Docs. )

there is only a few docks i know i will want

* Community Applications

* PreClear

Please feel free to suggest Dockers or apps if you think it will help or be Needed.

I will be accessing these files from

Linux Desktop OS on a Laptop ( core 2 duo 3.1 HP )

Windows 10 Home OS desktop ( Core I7 3.9 Dell )

Sony 850D 55inch TV running android 7

Xbox ONE S

Amazon Fire TV box ( gen 2 ) Not the tv-cube )

Amazon Fire Tablet

All devices with have Kodi 18.1 installed also

and network mapped drives from the desktop and laptop

My Server stats below  will be

* Intel Server Running Unraid OS 6.6.7

Intel i3 processor (3.3 gig) Socket LGA1156

8 GB RAM and is expandable to 32 GB.( 2*4) ECC Memory Supported

Three 1 TB SATA drives ( 2 in parity ) ( 1 Storage )

Two 4 TB SATA drives (Storage)

One 2 TB SATA drive (storage

Two 500 GB Sata drive ( cache drives)

Integrated BMC with IPMI IPMI 2.0

Integrated Graphics

Six PCI Express Lanes (PCIe x8 Gen 2.x2 -PCIe x16 Gen 2.x1 -PCIe x4 Gen 1.x1 -PCIe x8 Gen 1.x1)

Intel® I/O Expansion Module x4 Gen 11 I/O Specifications

Six 6 (2.0 rev) USB Ports

I'd install the following: 😀 Keep in mind there are many many many you could install These are rather musts on my two machines.

Plugins:

Community Applications

CA Auto Update Applications

CA Backup / Restore Appdata - If you have an SSD

CA Docker Autostart Manager

CA Mover Tuning

Dynamix SSD TRIM - if you have an SSD

Fix Common Problems

Tips and Tweaks

Unassigned Devices - Allows you to plug in USB drives or simply add drives to your machine and not use them in your array.

unBALANCE

User Scripts - Allows you to create your own little scripts and launch them from a button or a schedule

Dockers:

Plex

FileBot

It is not clear from your description what you mean by ‘storage’ drives?   Since the parity drive(s) have to be at least as large as the largest data  drive in the array and you only mention parity in the context of the 1TB drives are the larger drives meant to be part of the array?   You also mention a RAID configuration?    Where do you expect to use that as Unraid does not understand RAID.

Just a comment - having dual parity on such a small array feels like overkill!     Do you have a good backup strategy in place?    If not you might find one of the 4TB drives being used as parity is better utilised as a backup drive.    Remember that parity is about uptime and protection against drive failure - it does not protect you against other ways of losing data.    You should always have an offline copy of any critical data.

i will be adding 2x 4tb's soon for storage  , waiting for extra money ..

I thought as you and started with 2 4TB parity drives but in the end the scalability of unRAID is so flexible I pulled down 1 4TB drive for data and will allow to fill my array up to at least 50% capacity or more before I feel the need for dual parity and that will be some time yet
