squirrellydw
I have a USB Brother HL-L2300D printer and would like to share it on my network. Anyway I can plug this into the USB port on my server and share it out? Any help would be great. I use a Mac if that matters. Quote Link to comment
Squid
You can check out the CUPS application. But, probably easiest thing to do is to simply plug the printer into a computer that's always on (or passed through to a VM) and share it via that. (Not sure though if you can do that on a Mac - you can with Windows) Quote Link to comment
squirrellydw
yeah, tried CUPS and it didn't work. Only computer that is always on is my server. Oh well I will just keep doing what I was doing, just trying to clean things up. I will buy a new printer at some point. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Squid
Some routers (my Asus apparently will) will allow you to share a USB printer plugged into it. Never tried as I've mostly always had a network printer. Quote Link to comment
