What's wrong with my file copy disk to disk performance?

See the attached image which represents a disk to disk file copy. I would think this would be faster if the source disk was being read, and the target disk was being written to at the same time. However as you can see it's read to memory is occurring, and then memory is flushing the writes to the target disk.

 

Thoughts on how to improve this?
