rikdegraaff
Hello all, My unRAID didn't start correctly, and now I needed to re-format and re-install my unRAID-os flash drive. I have just one huge problem. My parity disk, and other xfs data disks are deleted/removed from the array, so everything is unassigned... How can I get my array setup without losing any data??? I definetly need the help of our community, 'cause I can't find the solution to this problem wheresoever Greetings, Rik Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Assign all disks as data devices and start the array, there should be only one unmountable disk, that will be parity, if there is more than one grab and post diagnostics. 1 Quote Link to comment
rikdegraaff
Okay, thanks for the reply @johnnie.black, but only one disk is mountable. So hereby the diagnostics. tower-diagnostics-20190404-0357.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You can't have the disks mounted with UD, unmount all, stop array, start array. 1 Quote Link to comment
rikdegraaff
What is UD?? Quote Link to comment
rikdegraaff
Okay, but I now have this: Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
If you already know which one is parity do a new config (Tools -> New config) and reassign all disks, double check parity is correctly assigned to the parity slot, check parity is already valid before starting the array, then run a correcting check, a few sync errors are expected. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yes, but that's just the problem, I don't know which is the parity... Is there a tool/way to find that out?? If I just knew that... Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
I already told you what to do: 10 hours ago, johnnie.black said: Assign all disks as data devices and start the array, there should be only one unmountable disk, that will be parity, if there is more than one grab and post diagnostics. 1 Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It's not clear from the screenshot you posted above if the disks are not being detected or if you just need to do a new config to re-assign them, please clarify or post new diags. 1 Quote Link to comment
rikdegraaff
Okay, I've set them all to data disks and I get this in my overview: Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Did you unmount the disks from UD? 1 Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
You have the disks mounted with the unassigned Devices plugin, you need to unmount them first. 1 Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Like so: For all the mounted disks. Edited April 4, 2019 by johnnie.black 1 Quote Link to comment

itimpi
The disk that is showing up as unmountable will be your parity disk, so make a note of its serial number. Now that you know which one is your parity disk do another New Config and this time you know which disk is your parity disk when assigning them. Quote Link to comment
rikdegraaff
Thank you @itimpi, it is working now. Also many thanks to @johnnie.black for all the help. Greetings, Rik Quote Link to comment
