OS X Drops share after drive spin down

Featured Replies

I've noticed the when my drives spin down in the array, OS X drops the mapping to my user share. I have to establish the connection to the share by remapping it.

Am I missing something, or is this a case not not enough clue on my part?

Mike

What type of share is it?

I'm using automount NFS shares with success.

I am using SMB and have not had any trouble so far.  If a disk spins down it can take a while for the OS X to get a listing of the contents again but the connection is not terminated.

Perhaps you could post a syslog from the server after the connection has been dropped.  You can also try looking through the logs on your Mac after you know the connection has been dropped.
