unRAID 4.5.4 Help?

Featured Replies

I hope someone can help-  This is my first timing using this technology and I'm just trying to verify things so I don't mess anything up.

I have our server set up with NO ADD ON's currently:

We have had some issues lately so I would like to add the following (if possible)

E-mail notifications of events

Scheduled system checks

UPS (battery backup) automated monitoring and shut down features

Are these available and do I have the ability to use them?

Thank you so much for the help in advance.

First of all, upgrade to unRAID 4.5.6 as earlier versions have some bugs that you'll definitely want to avoid.  Upgrading is as simple as downloading the new release, extracting bzimage and bzroot to the flash share, then rebooting the server.  You can even rename your current bzimage and bzroot to bzimage.old and bzroot.old if you want to be able to revert easily.

As for the add-ons, start with unMenu (installation instructions are linked on that page).  Once you get unMenu up and running, click over to the 'packages' page.  You'll find a huge list of other add-ons that unMenu allows you to install and configure with just a few clicks.  I'm pretty sure that all three of the add-ons you have requested are in that list:

unraid_notify.sh (E-mail notification of events)

monthly_parity_check.sh (scheduled system checks)

APCUPSD (UPS interface)
