So if I leave the ports on the default of 27015 and 27016 it works, but if I change them in both the docker-edit and in the server settings to 27018 and 27019 I cant connect to the server. I've checked and UDP ports are forwarded. I've also tried 27215 and 27216 with no luck.

Please post a screenshot what you did exactly in the template and the settings file what you've changed.

The server is not saving playerdata after disconnect.

Please post a screenshot from your template, to what is the appdata share set in terms of use cache in the Share settings?

This is the container and not a physical player.

Hi,

I have a Problem and need some help.

Goal: Create 10 Ark Survival Evolved Docker Server (Every Map in a Cluster)

Description: If I create one Ark Survival Evolved Docker Container with the Default Ports I can normally connect to it and play the Game. But if I change the Ports to a different number, I can´t connect anymore.

For exmaple I changed

UDP 1: from 7777 to 7779

UDP 2: from 7778 to 7780

UDP Steam: 27015 to 27016

RCON TCP: 27020 to 27021

Every port is forwared but also in the local network its not working.

The Server is normally up and running without any errors, but if I want to connect to it I get "Connection Timeout". If I am using the default ports its connecting immediately.

Someone has an idea and can maybe help me ?

Exactly, because that:

wont work if you simply change it in the Docker template.

If you want to change the ports for the containers you have to change the ports in the config file for the container and then delete the default entries in the Docker template and create new ones with the ports from the config where every ports needs to be the same on the host and container side like:

PROTOCOL | CONTAINER | HOST
-----------------------------
UDP1: | 7779 | 7779
UDP2: | 7780 | 7780
UDP Steam:| 27016 | 27016
RCON TCP: | 27021 | 27021

Also see the first recommended post on top from this thread for Valheim, it's basically the same but you have to change the config files for the ports.

Where can I find the Docker Config? I tried to delete the default entries in the Docker template and created new ones. But I think i missed the setp to change the Docker Config.

Modding is always up to the user, I also don't play ARK so I really can't help with this.

Have you seen the second recommended post on top of this thread from @Cyd which has made a excellent write up on how to create a cluster?

I'm having trouble downloading Project Zomboid to set up the server. Potentially some file requests missing? Whatever the cause, it results in spiked CPU/RAM levels that freeze my server for several minutes before letting me close the container. Thoughts?

I'm having trouble download Project Zomboid to set up the server.

I don't understand, what is the exact issue?

From your log I see that it downloads just fine...

Whatever the cause, it results in spiked CPU/RAM levels that freeze my server for several minutes before letting me close the container.

When the container starts up it will use a lot of CPU and RAM to actually start.

This is what it should look like after it fully started:

I've also attached the log from a fresh installation what it should look like, you can also see that it restarts once after the first download: ProjectZomboid.log

Comparing the example you shared, looks like my install is failing part way though. It hangs on the "LOADING ASSETS" step with my whole server CPU bottled necked and almost crashing. Is it possible the CPU is under-powered for the job (4 core / 3.6GHz)

Can you post a screenshot from your Docker template?

Do you have a cache drive installed? If yes to what is the appdata share set in terms of use cache in the Share settings?

I don't think so because my server is about 50% load when it boots up for about 10 - 20 seconds but never freezes.

Maybe your drive can't keep up and that's why it freezes, on what drive is the game on (brand)?

Is the below screenshot what you're looking for? Following this guide for setting recommendations (https://unraid.net/blog/project-zomboid)

Please turn off validation, it has no benefit in your case.

I would like you to start over please by doing the following things:

  1. Remove the container
  2. Remove the projectzomboid folder from your appdata directory
  3. Pull a fresh copy from the CA App and try it again without changing anything and leave it sometime to start up

Out of curiosity, what does the Validate Installation setting refer to?

If some files become corrupt you can validate the files like you can do it in your Steam client but if you enable this it will actually validate the files each time the container starts and will slow down the start process since it always have to check the files against the Steam servers.

Have you stopped the container in the first place?

Where did you put the save file exactly?

Can you post a screenshot from the template, if you are using /mnt/cache/appdata/... make sure that the appdata share is set to Only or Prefer in terms of use cache in the Share settings.

Container is stopped when I put the new file in the save folder. I'm putting it in the same folder (/appdata/openrct2/saves) as the docker.sv6 file that downloads with the container. My appdata share is set to Prefer.

I did read it, and I was connecting exactly like this.

I get these when the container loads the config, I don't know why they appear twice.

I have the following in Game Parameters

I can't seem to find any info on these errors.

Container is stopped when I put the new file in the save folder. I'm putting it in the same folder (/appdata/openrct2/saves) as the docker.sv6 file that downloads with the container. My appdata share is set to Prefer.

This is really weird, I did nothing else as you did.

Maybe try a fresh container... Are there any old save files in that folder?

+server.maxplayers 10 +server.secure 0 +server.eac 0 +server.encryption 0 +rcon.port 28016 +rcon.password ******

Then RCON must be enabled differently, but don't quote me on that.

I'm really not into RUST or any other game currently and as always modding is always up to the user, I only provide the base functionality from the container.

I'm also pretty confident that I've answered a question about RUST and RCON a few times but I have to search for that, also keep in mind that RUST doesn't use the default RCON protocol they use something that is called WebRCON or something similar.

Ok, I'll do some more research and if I find a fix I'll update here for anyone else looking to do this.

Nothing other than the default map file. I've tried deleting it too but it didn't help. I'll keep messing around with it and let you know if I find anything.

I made some progress. I'm using these in game parameters;

+server.maxplayers 10 +server.secure 0 +server.encryption 0 +rcon.web 1 +rcon.port 28016 +rcon.password *****

Note on the rcon port - container has "eg: '+rcon.port 27016 +rcon.password YOURPASSWORD". I used 28016 as its the game port +1. I also added 28016 as a port variable in the container.

I also added myself as an admin through rcon and set server.eac to 0 and gave the server.writecfg command after to save it. (used http://rcon.io/)

Error's I get now are relating to steam:

(Steam Status "Invalid")

(Steam Status "InvalidAuthSession")

Still working on a fix for these.

I will try the other maps that you've sent over another day on my server and will keep you updated too.

Yes.

Can you describe a little more what you've did? I don't know what you exactly mean with it worked and then it stopped responding, that's simply not possible.

The Name from the container, the path from the game files, the ports and also the configuration from the second container to match the new ports.

Please see the first recommended post in that thread on top for Valheim it's basically the same except for the port in the Show more section.

So I had done all of this, but interestingly, the only way I could get it working was by setting   "ListOnMasterServer": true on only one of the instances. If it was true on both, joining the server would either fail to load, or would join the wrong server when using the "Continue" menu in game.

Works now though!

I'm having issues with installing Arma 3 on a docker container to host a server, I've added my username and password, opened the ports in the config on my router, this appears to be the last section in the log from what I can see before the logs window closes itself, i think at least anyway, i can try and grab more of the logs before it crashes if needs. Im not sure what to do so could anyone give me some advise? :) I also have a video recording of the logs as it runs before it crashes
