But it should also work with bridge, at least I use it this way.

How is the best way to revert to old backup? I see alot of backup files being generated, but dont know how to use them in case i need them except for using unraid backup.

Stop the container, open up the prefered tar archive and replace the files in the save folder with the files from the tar archive, not very different if you are transferring the world over from your gaming PC like described in the second recommended post.

Ah thanks. Just unzip or unrar them and paste them in after stopping container.

 

Any idea how to minimize lag? They report lag sometimes with 5 players. On a 2,6ghz 4 cores 8 threads pinned. Only use 30% one one core. Maybe faster cpu and nvme sdd. Use regular sdd now.

This is a common issue and nothing I can do about, this is in the hands of the developers and from what I know they are working on it, with 3 players you should have no problem but when there are more than 3 players it could get a little laggy.

ARK Survival Evolved Problems - ShooterEntry on all DLC maps.

 

As stated above,  whenever I try and start the game using one of the DLC maps (Namely paid ones) It starts in the "shooterentry" position on the server browser and is unjoinable. I'm able to run Ragnarok, The Island and The Center. All other maps go straight to shooterentry.

 

When I google this issue, all am able to find is solutions for paid hosting services or old posts about a patch that seemed to have this effect on everyone 2 years back.

 

The only thing I can guess it is that the docker doesn't download all the DLC files, does it need to be authenticated with a steam account that owns said DLC? Or is there a special parameter that needs to be set to start one of these maps?

No, the container fetches all of the server files (which include all of the maps in server form). I have never encountered that issue in the time i have run our ten map cluster. I would check over your xml's to make sure that all entries point to /mnt/cache/... (except it is ok to point the SteamCMD maps to /mnt/user/... if you want). You will want to make sure that the "map name" parameter is correct they are case sensitive from what I can gather and some are ... oddly named.

Anyone else experiencing this: No other issues with server... nothing has changed on that end save for an upgrade to UNRAID 6.9.2, which updates docker to version 20.10.5. This was needed to fix an issue with the container version tracking failing.

I appreciate this might be a little off topic, but wanted to post this here in case others ask about FarmSim in the future:

 

I managed to get a container up and running with SteamCMD, WINE and FarmSim and everything works. The bad news is, that it doesn't look like the Steam version can be used as a standalone dedi server in a docker - despite being installed via Steam it shows as not being licensed, so you can't actually start the server :(

Have you put in Steam credentials when downloading the game?

Yep, can see that steamcmd is logging in with my credentials

That corrected it. Wondering if I'd fixe that before but in re-building all my containers I lost the parameter from the template. Apologies for not finding that in the history, but thanks for pointing it out!

No problem, here to help and fix such issues... :)

 

I already changed the template from the Minecraft container to use by default jre16 if someone downloads a fresh copy from the CA App.

Yes, simply add a variable in the Docker template with the Key: 'GOTTY_PARAMS' and the Value: '-w --credential user:pass' (without quotes) and replace user:pass with your preferred username and password.

can anyone help me, i've installed the ark survival evolved docker and got it all working but no matter what i do i can't change it so Pegomastax and Ichthyornis don't spawn, i added the following to /mnt/user/appdata/ark-se/ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini:

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Pegomastax_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Ichthyornis_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")

 

but for some reason they still seem to spawn, i'm running a ragnarok server.

This only affects spawns, any that were on the map will still be on the map. You need to do a wild Dino wipe to get rid of any currently on the map. Simply restarting the server will not do it.
