[Support] ich777 - Gameserver Dockers

You have to change the file 'server.properties' that is located in the minecraft folder im your appdata dorectory.

You have to log into the console and op youraself with the command:

op YOURMINECRAFTNAME

(How to do that is in the description of the container)

Then I would recommen to chaneg the gamemode of your kids in game.

Hope that helps.

This was discusses one page erlier...

I also add a note about that in the Container description, @MadeOfCard told me that it takes really long to show up in the ingame server list.

I tried editing the server.properties file to change type to creative, save, restart container, and it wouldn't work, But doing the same thing for servername did carry over when I joined the game.

Also, I tried entering the OP command into the console and it reports "incorrect permission level for command: op"

I'd like to be able to make basic changes to this server to begin and hopefully grow with it. I don't know the format or syntax to enter these variables in the docker template, they don't seem to be "taking" fully in the server.properties file, and I can't seem to elevate myself to an operator to change in game.

Help?

About what container are we talking about?

Sons of the Forrest?

If we are talking about Sons of the Forrest and you have forwarded the ports correctly with the correct protocol and it even doesn't work you can try this (last paragraph) :

Please keep in mind if you are behind CG-NAT that all won't work.

No CG-Net, Ports are open.  I cloned working fw rules and altered the ports I used for another Working game server (Your statisfactory one, haha).  Sometimes it sees 2/3 of the ports listening, but never all 3.

Then please add the skip network check from the linked post.

First you have to join you Minecraft server.

Then when in game open up the WebUI from the container:

And issue in the following terminal screens op YOURUSERNAME wher you have to replace YOURUSERNAME with your Minecraft username.

After you did that you can issue all your commands from in game eg:

/gamemode creative YOURUSERNAME

I think if you joined in survival once you are stuck in survival.

You should see a Donate button if you click the container icon or if you go into the CA App you will see a Donate button on every container that you got installed from me or in the first post should also be a Donate link. :)

Thank You! I was able to elevate myself and change the world type.

Now I am having a problem getting my kids iPad to join the server. I figured out the client on her iPad wasn't updated so I fixed that. Entered server details on the main screen and it sees the server:port because it registers a ping.

But whenever I try to join, the iPad client does not join and just gives the generic "unable to connect to world".

But I don't ever see any evidence of the attempted join in the WebUI that lists out my account joining. I haven't setup a whitelist,

IPad has Minecraft Bedrock not Minecraft Java or did something change about that?

I've had a project zomboid server up for a few months now, it's still on build 41. Recently an update came out and after stopping the docker and starting it back up to update it, it will no longer launch anymore, just crashes midway through.

I'm not sure if I've got something going wrong on my end or if this update maybe messed with the zomboid docker in someway.

Thanks for the report. I look into that and report back.

@Tonborghini I can't reproduce that over here at least not on a fresh installed container.

Just after deploying the container and waiting for the download to finish everything is working as expected.

Hey trying to run two dockers for valheim, one is up with default and has been working perfect for a long time, I install a second instance, change all the ports (even under more) to ports that are not being used elsewhere (tried several ranges).

Second container is also in a seperate appdata folder etc, and runs no problem, but I cannot seem to connect to it at all, both servers are set to bridge and can connect to one but not the other.

Any ideas?

Please see the first recommended post on top of this thread.

Most likely you just changed the ports but not recreated it.

How did you change the ports?

here's a script that will check and restart your steamcmd servers if there's an update (kept getting pinged about satisfactory updates when my west coast friend was trying to play). I've got it on a 30 minute cron

#!/bin/bash

APP_ID=
CONTAINER_NAME=
APPDATA_FOLDER=
LOG_FILE="$APPDATA_FOLDER/update.log"

# Get the current installed version
CURRENT_BUILD_ID=$(awk -F '"' '{if($2 == "buildid")print $4}' $APPDATA_FOLDER/steamapps/appmanifest_$APP_ID.acf)
echo "Current Build ID: $CURRENT_BUILD_ID"
# Get the latest version using SteamCMD inside the container

LATEST_BUILD_ID=$(/mnt/user/appdata/steamcmd/steamcmd.sh +login anonymous +app_info_print '$APP_ID' +quit | grep -A 3 'buildid' | grep -oP '\d+' | head -1)
echo "Latest Build ID: $LATEST_BUILD_ID"

if [ "$CURRENT_BUILD_ID" != "$LATEST_BUILD_ID" ]; then
    echo "$(date): Update required: Current Build ID ($CURRENT_BUILD_ID), Latest Build ID ($LATEST_BUILD_ID)" > $LOG_FILE
    echo "Restarting the $CONTAINER_NAME server to apply updates" >> $LOG_FILE
    docker restart $CONTAINER_NAME
else
    echo "The server is up-to-date: Current Build ID ($CURRENT_BUILD_ID)"

Okay, thank you for checking it out! I'll keep looking into what's going on with mine and hopefully figure it out soon.

Yeah, I'm running Ich777's bedrock server docker specifically because she has the iPad version. I'm also running the bedrock windows client for me. That one is able to join, hers is not.

Mobile versions and Desktop Bedrock versions are not compatible, however there where wrapper servers out there that make it possible to join your server from a mobile device but I'm not too sure if that's still possible.

Hey ich so I think my issue with the PZ server was just a corrupted save file it appears.

out of curiosity in case I want to startup a build 42 version of the game, what game parameters would I have to put in to have it run build 42?

Edit: So it looks like build 42 isn't even supported for multiplayer yet so I'll be holding off on that until later on, but for futures sake, I was having a hard time trying to find documentation on how to update the game to an unstable or beta version. Is there a way to do it?

thank you

This should do the trick:

grafik.thumb.png.487862222ff7e02f56040ed7a262ce22.png

(also mentioned in the description from GAME_ID)

But I'm not too sure how ProjectZomboid handles beta branches since every develop/team/studio handles that a bit differently, the best place to ask would be on their forums how to install a beta branch through SteamCMD.

It tries but as you can see you get the error 0x6 in your logs.

Please try to set the path to /mnt/user/appdata/... instead of /mnt/nvme-cache/appdata/...

What filesystem are you using on this pool and are you using exclusive shares?

sorry for late reply. I tried that path and it shows same issue.20-PM-11-06-25_IS_floorp.thumb.png.30e9e22305f9d438429058f2741138e9.png

filesystem of cache is btrfs

appdata share has cache as primary, array (xfs) as secondary with Array -> cache mover rule

Something is definitely hanging but I really can't tell why, I've never experienced that issue.

However it's really strange that a few users hat the issue almost at the same time...

But glad that you've figured it out!

I am also experiencing this same issue with Icarus. There's been 2 updates in the last week and a half and the only way I am able to pull the update is to uninstall and reinstall the container, deleting everything in-between...

Connecting anonymously to Steam Public...OK
Waiting for client config...OK
Waiting for user info...OK
 Update state (0x3) reconfiguring, progress: 0.00 (0 / 0)
Error! App '2089300' state is 0x6 after update job.

Edit: I was able to get it to pull by deleting just the steamapps folder and starting the container.
