Will you be applying the latest Palworld update to the server Docker?

My containers are self maintaining and look for updates on a container restart.

  1. If it doesn't update on a container restart do the following:
    Stop the container

  2. Delete the folder steamapps in the main directory from the container

  3. Start the container

  4. Open the log and look if it pulls a new update

After that the container should be up to date.

I'll look into that but if I can't get it running I might have to deprecate the container.

I now tried it with a new instance and everything seems to work just fine without restarting.

Satisfactory 1.1 on Unraid 7.1.4 will not work for me. The log seems to show a cycle of starting up, crashing and doing it all over again. I see a post above about port 8888, and that is there. I also deleted the steam app folder and the image before loading it all again. Still the same. I don't want to dump all sorts of info, but if you tell me what will help, I'll provide it.

Can you try to set up a completely fresh installation from Satisfactory, of course backup your old instance first, and see if the new instance is running?

I used the Ark Survival Evolved app on unraid to make a server and got it working earlier this year.

It might be possible that the savegame is too old and so the server doesn't run properly anymore.

I've removed the entire folder from appdata as well as steamcmd and it's still just bombing on me like that.

Did you also remove the entire image, so to speak container, and also tried it with the default settings.

@ich777 I tried setting up an Ark-SE server this week from scratch and it just hangs my server. My cache drive that the docker is installed on maxes out and eventually Unraid is not accessible. I watched the docker log go through the download and then when it starts the server is when the usage on my cache ramps up.

Edit: I finally got back in to my server and this was the last bit of the log.

Yeah, just deleted everything, the container, the template, appdata. Reinstalled from app store and didn't change a thing. Got this below.

IPC function call IClientAppManager::GetUpdateInfo took too long: 59 msec

Success! App '1963720' fully installed.

I appreciate you for even taking a look btw. Thank you.

@ich777

I've been following the apps you create for the CA store for awhile and saw that you stopped making them.

How much effort would it take or do you have a guide on how to build/create these apps so someone can continue your efforts? I have an IT background, but in infrastructure, less development.

Anyways, just curious if this would be something you're interested in teaching someone that wants to learn -- even if you pointed to some guides on how to do it and would be ok if I asked questions.

Appreciate your time!

This seems perfectly fine, how much resources does the container consume?

On what hardware are you running the container? You are on Unraid 7.1.4 correct?

I already explained that a few times here in the thread and always depends on your preference and if you already have a build environment.

My build environment got pretty complicated over the years, I use Jenkins with the Cloud Bees Docker plugin for Jenkins to build my containers in a dedicated LXC container and then push it locally from my Server to DockerHub and GHCR.io however nowadays one could easily set that all up with GitHub Actions, again it's always up to preference.

Don't know if I can teach someone how to create a Dockerfile and bash scripts since what I do is basically automate the download/update check and starting the game server.

You can always look at my GitHub or to be more specific into the SteamCMD repo and open the tags <- this is a bit unconventional but it works very well for me.
https://github.com/ich777/docker-steamcmd-server
It's all open source what I do.

I tried starting a Euro Truck Simulator 2 server but it is not starting it seems all files seem present but no luck:

Can't reproduce that over here, the server is just running fine without restarting, did you change by any chance any setting or is this all vanilla?

On what Unraid version are you?

What machine do you run the container on?

Unraid 7.0.1. Is that what's going on? Do I need to update for something specific?

Asus Prime Z790M-Plus
64GB of RAM
HBA Card with 6 drives, 1 parity
3 NVME drives for cache

Sorry, glossed over that question. It's early here.

I would recommend that you try to upgrade and see if that works.

I'm not sure how to tell. The server becomes unresponsive after a couple minutes and I have to restart it. It could possibly be not enough memory. Do you know how much it takes to load the base game?

@ich777 I confirmed it was memory or lack there of. Thank you for your response. x

Does corekeeper dedicated server require a GPU? Am I just lost here. Seeing a couple people posting about segmentation faults with running this server.

No, a dedicated server doesn‘t require a GPU.

Only one and I wasn‘t able to reproduce.

On what hatdware do you run the container and on what Unraid version are you?

Did you change any configuration files?

Deleted everything, and recreated it. I can connect again. Just have to transfer over the games now.

Thanks!

Edit: 07/12

For the benefit of others here, I found that one particular save file was the issue. I don't know why, but since it was an earlier save of the current game, I was able to just remove it.

Thanks again!

Yes it is. I didn't have enough memory for it to finish starting. I reduced what memory my VM was getting and it has plenty to start now.
