Nice price... these drives don't get a great rep but maybe the new firmware fixes it.

I have 2 of these. About a month old. Immediately flashed firmware and then precleared. No problems.

I bought them with the idea of removing 4 750G drives. 3 of them (not completely full) comfortably fit on one 2T. Other one is on other 2T with plenty of room to grow. Anyone with smaller drives (<750G) might consider one. It will free up slots to expand later, reduce power, improve cooling - all good things for unRaid.

I believe that "advanced format" drives (4k sectors) are going to take over. These excellent prices may mean that they are soon going to be "upgraded". With some of the problems with some of the newer drives, might be a good time to buy a couple to tide you over until all the kinks are worked out. Just a thought.

I want to get one to replace my 1.5TB parity drive so badly.  But I can't right now because I'm building a different box to run ESXi on.

Remember, these drives are sensitive to power fluctuations and vibration.  Use good power connections and screw them down tight - no rubber suspension for these.
