SOLVED: 6.6.7 Freezes on video transcode

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Weird issue here, wondering if anyone has seen this and possible next steps: (unRAID OS 6.6.7)

  1. Plex and Emby both freeze when playing back any file (through their respective web interface) within 2-3 seconds of playback (allowed me to isolate it as not just a Plex issue).
  2. SSD Cache pool (2x 1TB SSD) on btrfs. I've balanced the drives, raid scrubbed, and manually trimmed. Issue persists.
  3. I've also changed Plex to transcode on the RAM, and verified it's transcoding in the RAM, and still freezes 2-3 seconds after starting playback.
  4. SMART (quick) passes on both SSDs.
  5. Rebooted server, same issue.
  6. No major errors in syslog except ffdetect[13056]: segfault at 38 ip 0000000000403ad8 sp 00007fffaa49c2e0 error 4 in ffdetect[400000+16000] which occurs only at system bootup, and I believe is a plug-in trying to restart the web interface.

Any thoughts or suggestions on next steps?

EDIT: Weirdness continues - Browser being used is Chrome.  Tested in Firefox, and video plays fine, but audio drops after 2-3 seconds, but video continues to play.  Only docker update recently is Emby, going to attempt to roll-back, and see if that does anything

SOLVED NOTE: Browser update issue.  Reboot of system and re-install of browser resolved the issue.
