April 25, 20197 yr Hello all, I'm setting up a new server while I'm still running an old one. The idea will be to move the data from the old to the new once it's setup. Would it be possible to use a trial version of Unraid to get the settings in place and then once everything is setup and all drives are moved from the old server to the new one, can I then copy the flashdrive's content to the flashdrive that has the valid key? What files would I need to copy? Is this even the right procedure?
April 25, 20197 yr I believe you can copy the entire contents, just be sure to keep a copy of your license .key file with the licensed stick. It certainly sounds like a reasonable way to accomplish what you need. Make a backup of both USB sticks by clicking on "Flash" on the main GUI tab, then clicking "flash backup". Keep the backup files well identified so you can sort things out later if something goes sideways.
