April 27, 20197 yr So I am transferring 9TB of data from my Windows 10 Storage Spaces to unRAID from nic to nic within a separate network (192.168.10.x instead of 192.168.2.x) using SFTP. Both cards are 1gb, using a cat5e cable. My unraid share is set to use cache disk. Mover set to every hour, but might have to do it sooner. I did have the share set to not use the cache, but it was slower, not by much though. Problem is that I am only getting about 35MB/s. Is there something I am not doing in order to get full bandwidth? Should I use windows to move the data instead of SFTP? Edited April 27, 20197 yr by dbinott
April 27, 20197 yr Are you sure your windows server can read the data any faster? What speeds do you get trying simple Windows File Explorer to copy?
April 27, 20197 yr Author somewhere around the same. starts off about 70 then tappers to ~35. At this point I would be happy with 70.
April 27, 20197 yr Author I didn't even think it could be windows, windows does everything perfectly. But I just did some checking on storage spaces read rates and looks to be fairly equal to what I am getting. sucks. oh well. is what it is til it's done.
