Any alternative to OpenVPN on a weak cpu?

Long story short I have 2 places one is 300/100 another is 240/200.

300/100 is running my unraid server on a J1900 8GB board. 

 

At the moment I'm running OpenVPN on my router TP-Link Archer C5400. 

The max speed I get is 30mbit. 

 

Tried openvpn server on the unraid box to see if that would make any difference and it just crashes while starting the server.

I guess it's too heavy for the J1900. 

 

Is there any alternative to browse my server, play videos over internet? I would like SMB access over internet but that is a really bad idea. 

Is there any possible situation that I can access my files over WAN with 100mbit?
