Will this PCI SATA card work with unraid

Featured Replies

Found an old sata card in an old pc, was wondering if it will work ok with unraid, it is a VIA SATA PCI SA2210P, has two internal sata ports, one IDE and one external sata port, the external is not eSATA in that it has the same connection as the internal sata ports.

If it's PCI you really wouldn't want to use it because of bandwidth bottlenecks even if it did work.

its PCIe if that makes any difference

It should work with the sata_via driver, but I wouldn't trust any disk to a VIA controller, they used to be buggy as hell, at least on Windows where I've seen several cases of corrupted data, never used them with Linux though.
