lecrote
I got an disk failure on my first disk that I put in unraid. Reallocated sector count is increasing every day by 1 It got appdata folder on it (docker). I read all the info I can on procedure for moving data from one disk to another. I just order a new disk arriving in 2 days. So do I move the data from the disk to another disk and after replace the disk? Or just wait for the new disk and replace it? what's the impact if I move appdata folder? are my docker are affected? Do I have to stop my docker before moving that data from that disk? Thanks Quote Link to comment

Or just wait for the new disk and replace it? Just replacing the disk is the usual recommended procedure. Moving the data from the disk is really unnecessary activity on a possibly failing disk. Moving actually involves writing to the disk, since it is really a copy followed by a delete, and delete is a write operation. If you have any important and irreplaceable files on the disk then it might be a good idea to Copy the data instead of Moving it. Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete diagnostics zip file to your next post so we can make a more informed recommendation. Quote Link to comment
