That's great, can you also make sure it's detected for SAS devices? It uses sdparm which is now included with v6.7:

Is there ANY adverse effects from running hdparm -W /dev/sdx on a SAS device?

It will give an error, but can't see any harm being caused.

I suspected that, best bet for now it to have a user script on array startup enabling it, hopefully LT will enable it for all array drives in the future.

Install user scripts plugin, create a new script with just the hdparm command and schedule it to run at first array start.

 

Note that if you change any hardware the sd identifier can change, though you can use sd* to run the command on all devices, it won't cause any harm.

Can I just add this command to the Go file? I already have a command in there to disable ACPI power meter to fix the log getting spammed with error messages.

Yes, but I would still recommend user scripts since there's a large chance you forget about adding it in the future, if it's no longer needed, though in this case it shouldn't cause any issues.
