Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout

Featured Replies

I recently acquired a Dell PowerEdge R720 with an Perc H710 mini RAID card.

I configured the RAID to be RAID 0 for each individual drive. (I read somewhere here that's what you have to do)

But now when I finally see the drives in unRAID it states that they are "Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout"

I have the ability to format the drive in unRAID, however I fear that if I do I will lose access to the drives in unRAID as I was not able to see them before I got the disks initialized via the PERC H710 mini RAID controller.

Also, Parity-Sync/Data-Rebuild in progress. This is still running (A 10TB HDD)

Including at the very bottom: Array started: Parity Sync / Data rebuild 52%

Is anyone able to provide some assistance as to what I should do here.. just wait?? I am still looking around for solutions, while I am writing this post.

Attached is the diagnostics info for those who are diagnostic savvy.

I am a newbie to unRAID, and would appreciate any insight from the forum members here.

Formatting is what is needed here.

However... unraid doesn't work well with RAID controllers, the need to set the drives up as RAID 0 is only the tip of the iceberg. I STRONGLY recommend using a plain HBA that will allow unraid to fully manage the drives and their health.

Thank you for your input.

I am going to look in to that...
